Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology, or AT, often plays a vital role in the lives of people with disabilities. But often when someone thinks of AT, they envision a product with a large price tag attached to it. But often that is not the case. According to the Assistive Technology Act, assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.

With so many assistive technology solutions available today, matching a device or software solution with an individual’s functional goals is more achievable than ever. Visit UCP Michigan’s Assistive Technology Center in Marquette to discover the many AT solutions available for increased independence. For more information about UCP Michigan's AT Center, please contact at 906.226.9903.
