United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan hosted public forums around the state of Michigan in 2009. The purpose of the forums was to listen to people with disabilities and their families describe their hopes for the future. The Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council is using the information gathered to develop their State Plan for 2012-2016.

The reports can be downloaded. The site is organized around:

• Basic information about the project, including a summary of the input, a project overview, and a report on the focus groups.
• The input from the 6 regions where forums were held. The regions were Central Michigan, East Michigan, Northern Michigan, Southeast Michigan, Southwest Michigan, and the Upper Peninsula.
• The input on various life areas, as required for the DD Council's State Plan. Those life areas are Community Supports, Education, Employment, Family Supports, Health Care, Housing, Quality Assurance, Recreation and Transportation.
